Day 1 (cont'd) : Making it easy

After lunch, we carried on with our next activity: BIG CLEANUP!
Rearranging the books on the shelf.

"What touched me the most was that the children volunteered to help us. Even though they are still kids but they are mentally mature enough. The education in At-Taqwa is really good. After cleaning the mini library, I moved to the boy’s dorm to continue cleaning up the place. I was so surprised when I entered the dorm, the dorm was so clean and I was informed that the dorm was cleaned by the children. We wiped the window which the children cannot reach and help to rearrange their stuff on the top of cupboard. We also moved the heavy mattress for the children to clean up. Although the cleaning process was tiring but it is worth when the children have a clean environment. " -Abang Kuang.

At around early evening, we started to prepare for barbecue outside the house. Some of us remained staying in the house and interacted with the children to avoid them from going near the fire.
Craving for ice cream huh? Too bad we prepared chicken and sausages instead of ice cream! :(

BBQ chicken and sausage in process!

Tasty! Except the unfortunate one that became black. :\

The kids really loved the meal (which we had already expected haha)! Some of them were even trying barbecue food for the first time!

That night we also had some games with the kids and interacted with them. If you ask which game was their favourite one, I would certainly tell you --- WEREWOLF!

Excitement x10.
Excitement x100.
"After the barbecue and their prayer, we played a game called werewolf. At that night this game was led by Qayum. His epic expression made all the kids enjoyed and got into the atmosphere very quickly. Anyway, some of the kids did not like being in a big crowd, so they chose to play with me and Yi Xin, and they never got bored of playing ‘cak kali cak’ that they learnt in the morning. The kids were always so curious that they asked a lot about us, like our hobbies, our education and for sure we answered all the questions they asked. After they figured out that Yi Xin was good in singing, they even asked her to sing some songs!" - Kak Fong

The activities of first day ended, so we started to clean up the place and have our post-mortem. We came up with some ideas about what games to be played for the next day and also briefly practiced the aerobics dance. After that, we prepared sandwiches for breakfast of the second day.

Post-mortem going on.

Preparing breakfast for the next day.

It's happy when we all work together! :D

The most wonderful thing is that you make it easier when life gets hard.
Same goes to what went on in this house.
